The Ladybird room runs alongside the Butterfly room caring for children aged 2-5 yrs old. It is open term time only in school hours. We offer a morning or afternoon session with lunch available if needed. The Ladybird room is particularly appealing to those parents whose children have turned 3yrs old and are receiving funding as they are entitled to 5 free sessions per week.

During the day, the door between the Ladybird and Butterfly room is open and we offer the children a free-flow system. At these times the children are able to choose which room they wish to be in and therefore have a greater selection of activities to participate in. This offers the children a great space to play in and an opportunity for them to interact in all areas.

At the beginning and end of the Ladybird room sessions, we separate the children into two groups between the Ladybird and Butterfly rooms. This is an opportunity for the children to enjoy register, group time, story and quieter play. Group time in the Lady bird room is usually structured for the children who are approaching school the following year. This offers the children age appropriate activities in preparation for school.

The Ladybird room has a spacious area that is particularly good for physical play. In this area the children are able to use equipment such as the climbing frame and slide, the bouncy castle, scooters and ride-on’s, balancing beams and much more. Within the Ladybird room the children have their own kitchen area where they are able to do baking, food preparation and even wash- up their own cups and plates! This area is designed for the children to use with ease, with safe equipment all at their height. As in the Butterfly room, we offer toys and activities that cover all of the foundation areas.
