We are teaching the children a song to perform within the Harvest Festival Service on 20th September, to be held at the church starting at 11am. At this service children are invited to bring along food donations – if you are unable to attend the service and would like to send a donation then please bring it to nursery a couple of days prior and we will take it across to church.
Could everyone please ensure that their personal belongings are removed from the pegs and surrounding area for the bank holiday weekend in August (29th August) as the hall way could do with a bit of a titivate! We are going to give it a lick of paint over that weekend and would very much appreciate a blank canvas ! It will be a good opportunity to clear up the clutter also!
2nd September - Sports Day & Picnic
20th September – Harvest Festival at Church – 11am start
The summer holidays are well underway and a new school year is fast approaching – nursery life hasn’t quietened down that much over the holiday time and we still continue to plan events and activities for you and the children. PLEASE take time to read this newsletter so that you are kept up to date with all that is going on.
On Wednesday 2nd September, between 3pm and 6pm we are to be holding a sports day. We will hold this on the school field and take our tea over for a picnic during the event. Any child who is not normally in attendance at this time is welcome to come along with their parent/carer and can bring a picnic along too ! Any parent of children who are normally in on a Wednesday are also most welcome to come along to spectate. It will be very informal and we will go with the flow of what, and how much the children wish to participate. This event will only happen if it is not raining!
Just a gentle reminder – could you please avoid sending your child in with pull-ups unless this is crucial to their stage of toilet training. We have had several problems with the pull-ups leaking recently and it takes so much longer to change a child when they are wearing them – multiply that by a dozen and nursery life can become tricky !!
Nursery has a resident bear and he would very much like to go home with children at the weekends, or go on holiday with them. Would you be able to accommodate a bear and his suitcase for the weekend? He has a passport and he is very well behaved – all he needs is a little TLC and some photos taking of what he gets up to whilst with you, to go in his album. Please speak to one of the staff if you would like to take Bradley home – you will make a little bear very happy !!!
We welcome 2 new staff members to the team – Becky and Rachael both join the team, and I am sure that you will join with us to give them a warm welcome. The staff have, obviously, been in the throws of their holidays and as such we have been supported by students, Hannah & Harriet, throughout the last few weeks – their help has been invaluable and as they have now become “regulars” they are of great support. We wish them well as they start on their university journeys – we look forward to seeing them next school holidays!
