Horticultural week...

This week is Horticultural week. The Ladybird home corner is a garden and we are making vegetables and flowers to decorate it. We will be planting seeds over the next few weeks and look forward to seeing how they grow.

The children in the baby room have had lots of fun over Easter making Easter cards and cakes. They particularly enjoyed tasting the ingredients as they made their Chocolate Easter nests.

The ladybirds have been very busy over the past few weeks. We had a lovely time reading our favourite books as we celebrated world book day – a big thank you to the Mums who came in to read and to those who sent in a book for us to read in Nursery.
This week we are preparing to say a big thank you to our Mummys on Mothers day and have made cards and gifts. We have made lots of cakes for the Mothers Day tea and have told our friends why we love our Mummy at circle time.

We have said goodbye to many of our older babies in the last few weeks as they have moved up into the "big" room, and hello to lots of new little ones.
All the new children are enjoying making new friends as they settle into nursery life.

Love is in the air as we celebrate Valentines day by making painted clay heart ornaments, cards and yummy heart shaped jam filled biscuits. The older children chose the recipients of their cards and practised their writing skills.
The children also explored sensory recognition with a food tasting game, trying to guess what they were eating.

The Ladybirds are practicing washing cars in the new role play area this week - maybe they will enjoy washing the real thing at home.
We will be making car shaped biscuits and wheel sandwiches. Later in the week we will be experimenting with clay.
Welcome to our new website and blog which we hope you like and find informative.
The blog will be updated on a regular basis to let you know what is going on in the Nursery, activities your Children have been taking part in and any other areas of interest.
We welcome all feedback so please let us know what you think or if there is anything that you would like to see on here.
